try this version of java. Seems to work much better than newer versions w/ XP. fwiw

Java blows. I refuse to trade on a java platform.

But if you must trade on java, I suggest you uninstall everything java and download MS Virtual Machine. Even though MSVM is "off the market" you can find some downloads out there if you google for it.

Then go to Tools/ Internet Options and make sure MSVM is selected and anything/ everything java (if they are still in there) is unchecked.

See if that works better.
