Musk will take Twitter private now, owning most of it, with some shares going to banks who gave the loans to acquire it. Once, it becomes private, you will not be able to buy TWTR shares much less, short it. It will simply stop trading in the US stockmarket.
They can't go higher than $54 right (well, does not make much sense to do so)
So between now and when they stop trading (which could be months) TWTR will trade sideways and always sell off on small pops.
Also shorting knowing Elon is nuts and could pull the deal at any time is also not a bad idea.
(see for ref ATVI, since MSFT bought them in Jan, they are a scalpers dream. Trade sideways and give up any pops)
This can lose money how?
Thank you for any thoughts and help

Dumb question probably and this is probably arbed out but what about buying any dips till the deal is finalized? Most non-controversial risk arb deals don’t move that much. You will be playing for pennies.
Might pop back up shortly but presently trading below yesterday's 400pm close.
