Lawyers for X said it complied with court orders in Brazil to censor certain accounts, a surprise reversal seeking to overturn its block there. Brazil’s Supreme Court blocked the site last month after Elon Musk refused to obey what he called illegal orders to censor voices on his social network. Countries are no longer going to put up with content on X/Twitter inciting violence and hate in their countries. If Musk refuses to censor these accounts then the governments will shut off Twitter and fine the company (and Musk's other businesses).
Brazil is one of the countries that formerly had a large number of Twitter users (21 million ranking sixth in countries of Twitter users) -- Musk cannot afford to lose the advertising revenue from Brazil. Now Musk can only hope that users in Brazil come back to the platform -- which they likely will since they only lost access for a week or so.
I expect that the judge in the case will only allow Twitter to go back on-line in Brazil if the company fully commits to following legal orders to block accounts inciting violence (just banning a few accounts now is not enough) and if Musk promises to keep his fool mouth shut.
