It is worth noting that not all is well over on Mastodon, the platform that is being widely promoted as an alternative to Twitter. I think that if you just want to get away from Elon or not pay any fees, maybe it is a place to go- but not without problems.
I don't know how the hell they manage anything there, mostly because there is no there there. No company, no central management. Just a bunch of decentralized independent servers interacting with varying rules and moderation from server to server. Not sure I am the right one to not to articulate their pros and cons but some of the reports are not good. And don't assume that just because a lot of people and advertisers talk big about leaving Twitter permanently that they have found a better place. They have not. They may but the place they are going to will have to clean some sh#t up too if they are looking for change. Tell me again now, who do I go or does Congress go to if I address problems on Mastodon?
