Twitter and Musk

Let's follow-up with what is going on in Twitter. It is not only the main Twitter account which the new Musk management failed to get credentials from fired employees for --- but other Twitter accounts which actually earn Twitter money like the gaming account which has over a million followers. These accounts are all silent now.

Obviously not getting credentials from the employees -- who you locked out of your systems on Thursday night and then failed to communicate with --- is a fiasco. None of these fired employees have received their termination paperwork yet --- effectively they have been ghosted by Musk's management team. You at least think Musk's managers would have reached out to ask "Hey, can you give us the credentials" -- but not even this has happened. It appears that Musk's managers don't even know which employees were responsible for the various Twitter accounts which enabled the company to earn revenue.

Of course, major advertisers are still leaving in droves. This includes Volkswagen and all of their associated brands such as Audi, Porsche, etc. At this point it may be easier to count the few advertisers Musk has left.

Elon Musk, your new "Matt Gaetz."

The amusing part is the fired Twitter employees trying to contact the company to responsibly provide the credentials to some of the important Twitter accounts -- and Musk's management team just ignoring them & not responding.

The only credentials Matt Gaetz cares about are those for his hook-up apps with teenagers.

Elon Musk says ‘I have too much work on my plate’
By Reuters Published Mon November 14, 2022

Billionaire Elon Musk said on Monday he was working “at the absolute most amount … from morning til night, seven days a week” when asked about his recent acquisition of Twitter and his leadership of automaker Tesla.

“I have too much work on my plate that is for sure,” Musk said by videolink to a business conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali.

Musk, who is chief executive of both companies, appeared lit by candles, wearing a batik shirt sent by the organizers and said he was speaking from a place that had just lost power.

The question of whether Tesla (TSLA) will suffer because Musk is preoccupied with Twitter has become a focus for investors and analysts.

Indonesia has been trying to secure a deal with Tesla on battery investment and potentially for Elon Musk’s SpaceX aerospace company to develop a rocket launch site.

Musk made no commitment to either of those but said Indonesia had a large role to play in the electric vehicle supply chain and that it would make sense “long term” for SpaceX to have multiple launch points around the globe.

The genius Musk picks a fight with the U.S. Senator which regulates his companies.

Elon Musk Picks a Fight With the Wrong Senator
"Fix your companies. Or Congress will," Sen. Ed Markey tweeted to Musk after a verified account impersonated the senator on Twitter

If Twitter’s new owner Elon Musk is going to antagonize U.S. senators, he might want to think twice about taunting Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.), who sits on numerous subcommittees with oversight into his companies.

After a Washington Post reporter was able to create a verified Twitter account impersonating Markey on Saturday, the senator wrote a letter to Musk demanding an explanation. “Selling the truth is dangerous and unacceptable. Twitter must explain how this happened and how it will prevent it from happening again,” Markey wrote, adding that Twitter has become the “Wild West of social media.”
A @washingtonpost reporter was able to create a verified account impersonating me—I’m asking for answers from @elonmusk who is putting profits over people and his debt over stopping disinformation. Twitter must explain how this happened and how to prevent it from happening again. pic.twitter.com/R4r7p6mduP

Seemingly unbothered by the proliferation of misinformation and disinformation on his platform, Musk replied to Markey with a snarky tweet on Sunday morning, writing, “Perhaps it is because your real account sounds like a parody?”

Musk followed up with another tweet mocking Markey for wearing a mask in his profile picture. “And why does your [profile picture] have a mask?!” he wrote.

And why does your pp have a mask!?

All it took for Post reporter Geoffrey A. Fowler to create a fake verified Markey account, Fowler said, was “a spare iPhone, a credit card and a little creativity.” That’s because Musk launched a new Twitter Blue paid subscription that allows anyone with a spare $8 and a credit card to get a blue verified checkmark on their Twitter account. Before Musk’s takeover, those blue checks were largely reserved for notable public figures, celebrities, and journalists who confirmed their identity with the platform. Now, these newly verified accounts have been wreaking havoc. One tweet from a fake Eli Lilly account claiming the company would make insulin free sent its stock plummeting, causing the pharmaceutical giant to lose billions in stock value this past week.

This surely isn’t the last we’ll hear from Markey about Musk’s Twitter debacle, especially now that Democrats have maintained control over the Senate. The senator sits on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and is on numerous subcommittees that have oversight not only into Twitter but also two other Musk-owned companies, SpaceX and Tesla. Markey is a member of the Senate’s Subcommittee on Communication, Media and Broadband, as well as the Subcommittee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety and Data Security, both of which could investigate Twitter. He is also on the Subcommittee on Surface Transportation, Maritime, Freight, and Ports. That subcommittee has oversight on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which is currently investigating Tesla over the safety of its autopilot feature (as Markey put it, “for killing people”). And Markey sits on the Subcommittee on Space and Science, which has oversight on SpaceX.

As Markey wrote in a tweet responding to Musk, “Fix your companies. Or Congress will.”

One of your companies is under an FTC consent decree. Auto safety watchdog NHTSA is investigating another for killing people. And you’re spending your time picking fights online. Fix your companies. Or Congress will. https://t.co/lE178gPRoM

Along with MyPillow soon to be the sole large advertiser left on Twitter.

SpaceX just bought a big ad campaign on Twitter for Starlink

Yeh, sure. SpaceX/Elon has had and continues to have multi-billion dollar contracts with the U.S. government to provide shuttle and landing services to the international space station etc.

Now, suddenly, he is being identified as a national security threat with Biden and others saying he needs to be looked at.

In related news, Elon sent out a tweet shortly before all that saying that people should vote republican.

Coincidence? Let the viewers decide.
