Twin monitor problem

Hi,

Very simple question.

I've been using a single 19in monitor.

Decided to double up, so bought a 2nd, plugged one in via a DVA port and the other via VGA, but only one of them registers.

Can anyone suggest what I might be doing wrong?

In Display Properties/Settings...

Do you see a 2nd monitor (maybe grayed out)?

If so, then check the "extend my windows desktop onto this monitor" option.

One more small problem.

The cursor only moves from the left hand side of the left screen, to the right hand side of the right screen.

Desktop secured in holding bay under table, position fixed, and I can't switch the monitors around as one of the leads is much shorter than the other.

Is there any way I can control how the cursor moves between screens without moving monitors??
 
Sounds like you're saying you want the monitor currently on the right to be on the left?

If so, then go back to the same dialog box, click on 1 of the displays and drag it to the other side.

I've been trying to setup two monitors. I've got an agp Nvidia Ti200 and Emachines on-board graphics adapter. I'm not getting any of the prompts for dual monitor configuration on display settings. I figure either the onboard vid won't support dual setup or the bios needs to be tweaked so it defaults to onboard vid.

Any thoughts? Thanks.
 
Try a single or dual PCI card. I suspect that onboard video may not work well with agp cards if at all.

I had the same problem with my Dell with onboard video, real bad for trading. You have to go into net bios and disable onboard video, there is a setting you wil just have to look around at bit. Good luck. Also you may need to wipe out the video drivers for everything except the dual card you are using. Good luck
