Quote from andrewbee:
I watched this show and just shook my head in disbelief. They expect these newbies to start making money right out of the gate, with two weeks training? It takes YEARS to master both the markets and your emotions, and even then only a few make it.
You never know they might find a natural who is gifted at trading from day one. I frequent another (non trading) internet message board and one of the guys posting there is the brother of one of the novice traders (the ex army major) in the show:
Yes. Its true.
I know I should be more supportive as he is my brother.
But I know quite alot of unpleasant personal stuff about him (as an adult). If he wants to wreck his life : fine. But to treat our mother the way he has is just not on.
As a child he was a very sweet boy. But again there I have a bone to pick. Everything he turned his hand to turned to gold with minimal effort. If he had worked hard all his life instead of swanning off with the Paras he could have created a cure for cancer or something like that now.
Couple of examples : berkshire county writing competition for teenagers. he scribbled something final night : came 2nd!
He joined local cricket club : had never played before. got straight into team despite the others having years of expensive coaching.
Don't you just hate people like that?
He is talking about the guy in the show who had no problem with 32 x 32 as the interview question and claimed he was 'raw talent'. I though he was just using normal interview technique when he said that, but reading the above it might actually be true.
Will be interesting to see how this 'raw talent' does at trading..
