Turns out that the market IS out to get you

Quote from MandelbrotSet:

You haven't quit trying to succeed as a trader Vespian, you've merely stopped at the next mountain that you would have to climb to become one.

The thing is, that mountain is still going to be there, whether you choose to actively pursue a career as a trader or not.

Even if you pursue a career doing something else, to succeed at it you're going to have to apply the same knowledgeable discipline that we all have to apply to succeed as traders ... the only difference is that you will be giving your power over to someone else, whereas, what Redneck Trader is telling you here, it is much better, to keep that power for yourself.

What a crock of shit........i love it when losers provide advice as if they were winners.......give it up,joker.

I made a video of myself trading yesterday and so you guys could give me some feedback on my emotional control.

Vesp, it's a sign of your maturity as a trader the way you channeled your anger into the keyboard, which, unlike your monitors, windows and children, is an inexpensive and easily replaceable item!

(I tried to trade SPNG a few months ago through PowerEtradePro and despite hitting the offer 3 times as it moved up, my orders just sat their unfilled, so I could relate to this guy :p Etrade ended up giving me a $60 credit for my troubles.)

That kid is headed for a heart attack down the road. I read many on this board who are still grappling with the emotional component. Strict adherence to your trading plan is the only way to survive. I didn't say get rich, I said survive.

Quote from Vespasian:

Actually my Swing Trading is netting 30% returns per year on average for the last 3 years (That's how I've managed to pay most of the bills)

It's only my Day Trading that I've struggled with, thanks for the advise but I would never let anyone else manage my money.

Well maybe my buddy Redneck but that's about it. :D

If you are pulling off 30% yoy on swing trading why aren't you trying to go for 50%, 75%, 100%+ yoy? Eh?

What makes you believe that:

DAYTRADING $$ > SWING TRADING $$$

Do you seriously believe you can go from one form of sport to another and succeed so fast?

Work on improving your swing trading and screw the daytrading. Isn't this obvious?

Yeah bro, if I gave up at the 5 years mark I'd have left 30 mill on the table.

Don't do it.

Keep on keeping on.

Never Give Up

Don't all you guys who responded seriously to this poster feel a little duped now??
Yeah.

Whether that video was mean't as humor or the thread actually is a run-up, the OP is definitely looking like the boy cried wolf right about now.

No worries though, the only people who really gave away actionable information on ET, have all had their ET alias long enough to regret it ... so I definitely ain't going down that path.

Automate your trades if you have trouble controlling your emotions, thats the only solution.

I am guessing this isn't the first time you have doubled down into a loser. What about the other times you did that and got away with it? You know doubling down and somehow getting out with a small profit in the end (even though it was really a bad trade). Well think of this loss as giving back those profits which you shouldn't have made in the first place, if it makes you feel better.
