I had a really tough afternoon, and I was wondering if anyone who faired well would share what indicators they used to either stay out (I felt like today was choppy) or trade profitably.
It was not particularly choppy. It was bearish, then bullish, then slightly bearish again before session close.
The morning was in fact fairly easy to trade. I admit the stable uptrend that followed wasn't quite what I expected either but that's what a long position is for, right? The opportunity to short after 3 PM was quite obvious in the ES, too.
Perhaps you can post your trades here and let us examine where the problem was.
Here's what I use (via alex). We chopped out for a gain but it wasnt 'that' easy.
