Probably because Tucker has a non-compete agreement with Fox which locks him in to not working for another broadcaster until 2025. The best he can do now is some "show" on a social media site.
Of course, Tucker will probably take legal action to get out of the non-compete --- at which point he will probably go to Newsmax or something.
Tucker's Twitter announcement speech was Projection 101. Acted like he was the only honest name in news while everybody else hides the full story with malevolent intentions. Dude did nothing, but spew what he thought his audience wanted to hear under Trump while simultaneously telling people he couldn't wait for Trump to be gone.
While I was amused that a comedian (Jon Stewart) was delivering more newsworthy content than cable news, I never figured the right would pick a clown for their "news" consumption.
