TT X_Trader 7.x Vs. TT 6.x

In the next few days, I have to decide whether to switch to TT 7.x or keeping for other few weeks the old but reliable release 6.x.

Also the broker informed me that the 6.x server will be disabled over time.

Nearly one year after the 7.x release, it seems the 7.x is not so 'perfectly' reliable even if (maybe) faster, at least in some condition. However I don't know whether major steps forward have been reached in term of reliability with the latest fixes.

Currently I do not need the X_Study and also I do not use the Pro version.

- Anyone is willing to share his experience with this transition?
 
stick with 6_x unless you want to go through helpdesk hell and get the ever popular "please pull your log files" response

LOL... this is very funny. the few times I have had to call that is exaxctly what they tell you. customer service seems to get worse all the time. jim
 
During the TT 7 demo setup there is the following excerpt inside the instructions:

>>For optimal performance, TT recommends at least the following:
• CPU: AMD Athlon 64 bit X2 5000 or Intel Pentium 960 D Dual Core processor at 2.0 GHz
• RAM: 1 GB or more at 667MHz
• Operating System: Windows XP Professional (required)

Anyone upgraded his computers to the dual core CPUs because of the new TT hardware requirements?

I upgraded to Duo Core + a 10K Sata drive and 2GB ram for Excel RTD work and to say its faster is an understatement...

I run X_Trader Pro v7 with 'OCO Trader' as a plug-in.

Wish I could say otherwise, but OCO is quirky -- sometimes throws out unexpected stops. At other times it doesn't set stops when it should. As a result it needs to be monitored at all times. I expect better from a $1,500 a month piece of software.
