TSLA earnings Wednesday August 03, after the bell. PCLN August 04.

TSLA will probbaly do the same of stuff as always: not enough shipments, blahvb labh blah ..stock jerks liek a bad porno for the next five hours. option buyers get hozed

It's been a pretty good earnings season for me. Except for AAPL, all the neutral plays have worked. ATM Aug 5 straddle ($41) closed at ~$3.10. After hours move was +$0.50 to $41.30. I'm hoping for the calendar to open at around $0.75+ tomorrow morning for a 200% gain.

Many stocks moved much less than expected this cycles - for example, AMZN, TSLA and now ATVI. I'm not sure that long term those are good candidates to sell premium before earnings. The best candidates are usually stocks that move less than expected after earnings on a consistent basis. Historically, AMZN would be one of the best candidates to buy premium, not sell - but not this cycle.

In any case, congrats on your results, but those trades not necessarily had an edge, based on historical patterns.
