They also allow those WITHOUT 10 year FBI background checks to SERVICE the aircraft on the ramp (food catering contractors, aircraft interior cleaning contractors, etc.....and some are even illegals ). This is from FIRST HAND in the field knowledge from my airline industry years (even AFTER 9/11)!

This time of year I'm routinely doing 8 - 9 hour drives to avoid the airline/TSA fiasco. I can't believe so many sheeple are putting up with the current situation.

Yeah, I will drive 8-9 hours to avoid.

My managment wants me to make a couple of trips to Dallas this year. When I told them I was planning on driving they told me to get current and take our T-34 or a 182RG we are leasing. I need a medical and two full-stops with no passengers. Pretty sure I need a BFR too. We also have a T-6 Texan (AT-6) but I don't have the type rating. I'm also a little afraid of Texans as I lost a friend in one doing low rolls in a warmup for an airshow, he was a shuttle pilot.

I'll probably just rent a car and drive lol. At least I'm reasonably sure I would get there intact. Our T-34 is placarded for no aerobatics because wings have been falling off T-34s worldwide under G. It just came back from the polish shop and looks just like a little P-51 but I've developed doubts about its air-worthiness.
