tryin to buy an nsx

5 days into round 2 of the experiment...
No trades have occured yet...
Doing better (% wise & $ wise) then after the same number of days elapsed last round...
$1000 cash as of today.
Plan on making my move tommorrow...

looks like rmkr had a good earnings report (-1cent/share reported, -3cent/share estimated). didn't quite kill, so I don't expect a whole lot in the next couple days. I'll give it a couple days to bounce and if it does I'll sell.

Chaos, what exactly makes you think INGN is going to break out of the short selling attack? A couple months ago I bought NFI (another naked short sell stock), but sold at a small loss as I changed my mind & decided the money would be better invested elsewhere instead of waiting the shorts out, and also didn't feel comfortable with its ability to maintain dividend going forward (it was a good call too since I used the money to add to my yhoo & goog positions).

I'm done.

My trading track record sucks. I have pretty much no skill at predicting <5 day price movement.
My investing track record is pretty good (I've beat the s&p by a nice margin in my 3 years).

There's no way i'm going to grow 1k to 30k+ without blowing up somewhere along the line.
I don't have the time to be trading every day (or even weekly).
I'm going to buy the nsx at toys r us (hopefully they have it & for under $10).
If my investments do well, I'll get the real car. Otherwise I'll stick to what I'm currently driving.

Next time I revive this thread, be sure to knock me upside my head...

Anyways, I had fun coming up with this thread, reading peoples posts, writing posts (even though I lost money), dreaming of the possibilities. Hopefully y'all did too...

Quote from Sanjuro:

You remind me of myself 5 years ago. I had unrealistic goals of trying to make 1% a day. I was calculating how many days it would take for me to turn my money into 1 million.

I'm very happy with making a 30% year now.

The chance of you turning 1k to 100k in a year is next to nil. The kind of risk that you need to take to make that kind of risk will eventually blow you out when you run into your next losing streak.

The path to success is consistent gains with small drawdowns over time.

Good Luck!

Very true Sanjuro
