Same with regular coffee brewing. I let the kettle boil and trip off then wait about 30 seconds until its just over 200 deg-F.
I ditched my Technivorm years ago (you can't clean inside those things properly) and have been doing pour-overs for a few years now. A little fiddly but the result is good.
But recently I ordered a "Clever Dripper" and it was one of the last packages I received before the postal service locked down. It holds the coffee in the dripper to steep until you place it on top of a cup or carafe.
You leave the coffee in the dripper for about 4 minutes. Its something like a French Press with a filter... sort of. Very tasty coffee. I've turned on a few friends to this bit of plastic magic. It make 16-ounces maximum and uses regular #4 paper filters.
Is the rum good in Columbia? Rum was so bad in Brazil and Fr.Guiana. It was made from grapes not cane. Awful stuff. I'd gotten the idea that good rum did not exist in S.America.
You've got me looking for interesting instant coffees. Many more brands here than in the USA.
