Focusing on just one part of this for sanity reasons.

The US is 4.4% of the world population. It emits how much again? It is a fucking carbuncle of waste and inefficiency and did not want to change. The only reason Cadillac for example are selling cars in China now, more than they do in the US is because of BMW and Mercedes putting commercial pressure on them to evolve.

You can't have it anyway you want. It was not conservatives who drove standards changes. You boys would still be praying the gray away when killer smogs came.

It is Europe and Japan who pushed most of the car emission standards, California (LA) bringing up the rear and for a good reason, air quality in cities. This is a different matter to CO2 etc. however it has helped somewhat.

It is not enough.

Facts are facts, and the fact is the United States could shut down every industry, park every car and basically throw itself back to the stone age and that wouldn't dent the pollution still being belched out by China, India, Russia and much of the rest of the world.
