If you buy into economic theory wages are what they should be given the supply and demand curves which impact wages. Wages are not cheap or expensive... they are what they are given the market.
When there is strong demand wages go up, when there is an excess of labor wages go down.
Unions "distort" the market upwards. Bringing in legal and illegal immigrants increases supply and therefore puts downward pressures on wages. Wages are a reflection of market forces and govt policies. ( I will address slave labor in a moment.)
So saying "America was built on cheap labor" is ignorant of economic theory and/or pregnant with leftist propaganda.
A more reasonable comment would be to say the Southern economy was highly impacted by slave labor for a period of time.

Who was more accurate in 2016?
Yes.
In 2016 more than any other poll Rasmussen showed Trump would get more votes than Hillary.Same with Romney in 2012.
Rasmussen had trump around 20 % balck approval while Doug Jones and Ralph Northam were winning Senate and Governors races with 90 and 95 % of the black vote.
If Trump had 20% black approval democrats wouldn't be winning races with 90-95% of the black vote.
Trumps overall approval rating would be higher if that many black people approved of him.
Democrats have flipped around 45 seats from red to blue and on average gained around 14 points in races since Trump won with The EC system.Dems couldnt do that if 20-36% of blacks supported trump.

(CNN)A new Quinnipiac University pollhas a striking result: 49% of people said they believe President Donald Trump to be a racist while 47% believe he is not.
Pause and digest that: Half the country -- HALF -- thinks the elected President of the United States harbors racist views.
That's a remarkable finding. Full stop.
