avoid a calamity (if it was super deadly), not wreck the economy,
give hospitals a chance to catch up, give big pharma some time for therapeutics.
Incentive speedy vaccine by end of year.

We didn't get a million deaths
We didn't go into an economic depression
Our Hospitals are not 'Overrun'
Vaccine in less than a year

If we stayed in total lock down for many months the deaths caused by
other things (suicide, drugs, not seeking medical care, seniors lack of social interaction, etc) imo would have equaled the lives save from covid 19 easily.

We didn't get millions of deaths because the virus wasn't nearly as bad as the narrative made it out to be. Wasn't Trump's doing.

Avoiding an economic depression is just a statistic. Millions of people lost work, the stock market took a massive dive (which then recovered) but none of this was Trump's doing. Local states drive employment, the Fed drove the stock market recovery by essentially insuring all risk across the board.

Hospitals weren't overrun because, again, the narrative was worse than reality.

Vaccine in less than a year - THAT was something you can say Trump helped drive. I'm sure he was working with companies behind the scenes and greatly helped incentivize that.

Personally $$$$ incentivized health care working on vaccines... presidents never can drive that when there is private global demand or a captive government audience.
