Covid will / can infect anyone regardless to race. People playing the statistics via which race gets it the most due to social economic disparities...are just a dumbass.

Simply, White people living in the same social economic disparity have the same equal chances of becoming infected with Covid.

Regardless, its a person right to decide if they want to take the vaccine or not for whatever personal reason.

Yet, be aware of this...many countries, governments, airports will soon require proof of vaccination to use their services. A few in the airline industry are already requiring vaccination card as proof of vaccination to be able to use their airlines. I believe Quantas was the first to require such.
As more airlines requires such...it could become common place within 1 - 2 years until countries reach vaccination herd immunity. Thus, wearing a face mask to board an airplane will most likely be just one of a few requirements considering many people wear the wrong face mask or wear their face mask inappropriately.

Thus, the only way to protect other passengers on an airplane is via vaccination instead of only requiring someone to wear a face mask.

As the above happens and with the rising variants of Covid...border crossing by car, bus, foot will require require a digital vaccination passport too. Canada is in talks with other G7 countries about digital vaccination passport verification for crossing borders.
I believe its a must for countries with large or dependent upon migrant workers to cross their borders for seasonal work. For example...Sweden is on its way to using digital vaccination passports.
Anybody ever live in a country that required proof of vaccination for the FLU shot to just enroll their children into the school ???

I have and such a requirement was once used in the United States. Also, the military and sport teams in many states require vaccination proof to play sports. Many are not aware or forgotten that it was how the U.S. have eradicated many diseases that attack children (e.g. chicken pox, polio, measles).

Although immunization laws in all 50 states require vaccinations as a condition of attending school both to protect individual children and to maximize “herd immunity” against widespread outbreaks of preventable infectious diseases, all such state statutes grant exemptions for medical reasons, with 45 states also permitting faith-based non-medical exemptions (NMEs) that allow parents to opt out from having their children vaccinated if to do so would violate their religious beliefs, and 15 states providing philosophical NMEs based on moral, personal or other beliefs. Only five states – New York, California, Maine, West Virginia and Mississippi – have eliminated NMEs from their state vaccination laws.
My point, if you have no need to travel by plane, will not be crossing the border anywhere, do not have children, you or those in your family will not be playing organized sports nor have any plans on joining any branch of the military...

You're also in good health with no underlying medical condition...you probably could go thru life without getting a Covid vaccination. :D

P.S. Some hospitals are now talking about requiring Covid vaccination for their employees except for those with medical / religious exceptions.

P.S.S. Social pressure...someone going on a blind date may be someone that will ask if you've been vaccinated to determine your value of life and their safety.

Federal health officials have identified several controversial pandemic recommendations released during the Donald Trump administration that they say were “not primarily authored” by staff and don’t reflect the best scientific evidence, based on a review ordered by its new director.

The review identified three documents that had already been removed from the agency’s website: One, released in July, delivered a strong argument for school reopenings and downplayed health risks. A second set of guidelines about the country’s reopening was released in April by the White House and was far less detailed than what had been drafted by the CDC and the Federal Emergency Management Agency. A third guidance issued in August discouraged the testing of people without covid-19 symptoms even when they had contact with infected individuals. That was replaced in September after experts inside and outside the agency raised alarms.

CDC Director RochelleWalensky ordered the review as part of her pledge to restore public trust in the beleaguered agency,which had seen its recommendations watered down or ignored during the Trump administration to align with the former president’s efforts to downplay the severity of the pandemic.

“I am focused on moving CDC forward with science, transparency and clarity leading the way," Walensky said in a statement Monday. "It is imperative for the American people to trust CDC. If they don’t, preventable illness and injury can occur — and, tragically, lives can and will be lost. This agency and its critical health information cannot be vulnerable to undue influence, and this report helps outline our path to rebuilding confidence and ensuring the information that CDC shares with the American people is based on sound science that will keep us, our loved ones, and our communities healthy and safe.”

The review was done “to ensure that all of CDC’s existing covid-19 guidance is evidence-based and free of politics,” according to a memo from the agency’s principal deputy director, Anne Schuchat. Schuchat conducted the review, which was posted on the agency’s website Monday. Officials said they are revamping all pandemic-related guidance to ensure that science and transparency are paramount.

The July school reopening guidance was controversial because it was released weeks after Trump criticized the agency’s earlier recommendations as being “very tough and expensive.” The opening preamble extolling the importance of in-school classes was presented as a CDC document, but the agency was not part of the discussion or drafting, Walensky said. That guidance was removed in October.

“This is something that I will not allow as CDC director,” Walensky said. “The processes we have in place moving forward will ensure this cannot and will not occur.”

Schuchat does not identify the outside authors who wrote the three guidances not developed by CDC staff. Nor does her memo mention political interference by the Trump administration.The word “politics” appears only once, and Walensky and Schuchat appeared to go out of their way in interviews to avoid discussing it.

But the review provides official confirmation of what has been widely reported in press accounts at the time — that political appointees ordered revisions to critical CDC guidance. In addition to the three documents not written by CDC staff, the review also cited recommendations that should have used stronger language and that should have cited supporting scientific briefs.

In addition, the memo said that too often, it was difficult to “decipher the core recommendations” in long guidance documents, and “the crux of what was new or changed was difficult to find.” But the document, a copy of which was shared with The Washington Post, does not provide specifics.

Walensky said she plans to adopt Schuchat’s recommendations to ensure that scientific rationale for major guidance is clearly communicated — with executive summaries that identify what’s new. She said that key guidance will be reviewed quarterly, and briefings will be held for media and other public-health groups when they are issued.

The review also found instances in which guidance used weaker language, such as “considerations” and “if feasible,” even though evidence supported a stronger recommendation.

“I can’t speak to how the decisions were made or why the language was less directive than we wanted it to be,” Walensky said. “We need to have language that needs to be clear when the evidence base is sufficiently strong.”

President Biden’s administration is focusing on the need to “offer the public a unifying message about what we’re doing and help rebuild their faith in government,” said one health official who spoke on the condition of anonymity to talk about internal policy discussions. The official added that it’s harder to rebuild faith in government when people are “constantly reminded of how [the CDC] has been overridden.”

Schuchat and about 15 to 20 CDC staff members assessed the major guidance to “identify primary documents that needed updating or removal,” the memo said. Agency officials had already begun assessing key recommendations related to testing and schools in October, because of concerns from clinicians and others about the need for updates as coronavirus cases surged in the fall, Schuchat said in an interview.

Regarding testing recommendations alone, the CDC has “36 different testing guidances that descend from one,” Schuchat said. The agency is working on a major update, including recommendations for prisons, homeless shelters and other workplaces, the memo said. The CDC is trying to streamline the process so one major document can cover many circumstances.

Not all guidances have been updated to restore information removed for political reasons. In May, political appointees delayed the release of and then removed warnings contained in guidance for reopening churches that said that singing in choirs can spread the coronavirus. That warning has not been restored.

Schuchat said the dangers of singing are now covered in general guidance about events and gatherings. “We were trying not to have to update too many different things,” she said. Since May, the CDC has released much more information about the importance of consistent mask use, and the agency will continue to reassess its recommendations.

Officials have released or updated more than a dozen major guidances, eight of them since Jan. 20, when Walensky became director. They include recommendations for wearing properly fitted masks, including double masks; a road map for safely opening schools;and guidelines for fully vaccinated people.

Seeing that there are at least 2,674,000 deaths from COVID globally out of a world population of 7.9 billion at this point ---- and there is at most one possible medically documented death caused by a vaccine (with AstraZeneca in the Netherlands due to blood clots) with over 350 million people vaccinated. An equivalent death rate to the COVID disease from the vaccine would imply that 116,000 people would be dead from the vaccine dose at this time. The evidence clearly demonstrates the odds of dying from the disease is way higher than dying from a vaccination dose.
 
Of course the Trump staff basically engaged in the Hunger Games to get on the short list to be vaccinated... but in complete secrecy from the public. Wouldn't want to dispel the anti-vaxxer notions of the Trump voters.

The outlet reported that former officials likened the effort to first-class passengers aboard the Titanic shoving others out of the way to get to the lifeboats.

"The moves they were pulling were unorthodox," the former senior administration official told Vanity Fair. "These other agencies were getting it outside of a formal interagency process."

The secret clamber for a COVID-19 vaccine came as then-President Donald Trump tweeted in mid-December that White House staff would be vaccinated "somewhat later in the program, unless specifically necessary."

"I have asked that this adjustment be made," the former president tweeted. "I am not scheduled to take the vaccine, but look forward to doing so at the appropriate time. Thank you!"

The outlet reported that the effort came from "almost every stripe of political appointee, at almost every rung of the ladder," including "representatives of cabinet secretaries to young White House desk jockeys to those prepared to leverage their connections to President Donald Trump's senior adviser and son-in-law, Jared Kushner."

Also among the group were "chiefs of staff of cabinet agencies, some of whose bosses had become notorious for publicly disregarding pandemic safeguards," according to Vanity Fair.

One senior official said while it seemed some chiefs of staff would claim the request was made on behalf of their office staff, "their ask was not about their employees."

Though it seemed contrary for those officials who were publicly disregarding health safety guidelines to be so concerned about getting a vaccine, the senior administration official said the vaccines would allow them to "maintain" their normal lifestyles.
