there is a key difference... Trump has been taking action and the Dems have been blocking the funding... the construction is in progress though... in addition he got Mexico to deploy forces in it's northern and southern borders, that also helps big... Mexico is doing more than the Dems are doing to solve the border crisis.. that is probably true, considering the Dems just want open borders to get a future vote base.

TRUMP: “We’re going to have over 400 miles of wall built by the end of next year. It’s moving very rapidly.”

THE FACTS: That’s highly unlikely, and even if so, the great majority of the wall he’s talking about would be replacement barrier, not new miles of construction. Trump has added strikingly little length to barriers along the Mexico border despite his pre-eminent 2016 campaign promise to get a wall done.

Even to reach 400 miles or 640 kilometers, he would have to prevail in legal challenges to his declaration of a national emergency or get Congress to find more money to get anywhere close.

So far, the administration has awarded contracts for 247 miles (395 km) of wall construction, but that initiative has been constrained by court cases that are still playing out.

In any event, all but 17 miles (27 km) of his awarded contracts so far would replace existing barriers.

true.. that's why I am arguing that the RNC v DNC numbers are more indicative, to which TonyStark has a counter argue that the dems money gone directly to the 20 candidates.. which is legit... I suppose the picture will be easier to read once the dems have their candidate.

Since he announced his candidacy, President Trump has repeatedly vowed to deport illegal aliens — including a promise last week to kick millions more out of the US — and to build a wall on the southern border.

But the feds say that Trump has fallen far short of President Barack Obama when it comes to deporting illegals even as the number of people caught at the border has soared on Trump’s watch, a new report said Friday.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement has deported more immigrants this fiscal year than any full fiscal year of Trump’s presidency, but has yet to come close to Obama’s early deportation record, according to new internal Department of Homeland Security figures published Friday by Axios.

Under the Obama administration, ICE deported more than 385,000 each year in fiscal years 2009 through 2011, and hit a high of 409,849 in fiscal 2012 — prompting critics to dub Trump’s predecessor “the deporter in chief.” The numbers then dropped to below 250,000 in fiscal years 2015 and 2016.

Under Trump, by comparison, ICE deportations dropped to 226,119 in fiscal 2017, then inched up to over 250,000 in fiscal 2018 and hit a Trump administration high of 282,242 this fiscal year, as of June, the website reported.

how do you build without money? the dems are blocking because the wall would cut off the inflow of their future voters... both parties are guilty of 'voter hunger', understandably so as they are politicians after all... the problem I have with the dems is that their policies tend to sell out the country.

the wall is only one of many Trump's campaign promises and he did achieve a lot in 2.5 years, despite the head winds in the dems and the MSM 90% negative coverage.

Trump had 2 years with a GOP Congress

right - and a lot has been achieved in that 2 years.. and I am happy that he prioritized - tax cut, getting rid of individual mandate in obamacare, deregulations, trade imbalances. 2 years is not a lot of time in Washington DC terms.
