Trump wants Universal Health Insurance

So according to Trump we are going to have better healthcare, its going to be less expensive and the government is going to be there looking at for you every step of the way. Ohhh swell. It sounds like Trump thinks healthcare is a right. Maybe housing, food, a car, an iphone, and a large screen tv will become rights too.

What else is Dear Leader Trump going to take care of for us?

President-elect Trump promised his replacement healthcare plan would have the goal of providing "insurance for everybody" and that drug companies would have to negotiate with the government on prices.

The Washington Post reported Sunday Trump didn't provide many specifics in the interview but said the plan would be "much less expensive and much better" and would be "great healthcare." He also stated it wouldn't be a single-payer system.

"We're going to have insurance for everybody," Trump said. "There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can't pay for it, you don't get it. That's not going to happen with us."

His plan to ensure everyone has healthcare and the direct involvement of the government in negotiating drug prices for Medicare and Medicaid would likely rankle congressional Republicans whose major objection to the Affordable Care Act is that the government is too involved in the market.

Health care is a right, the US has had this wrong for so long it's absurd. A relatively healthy population without risk of financial catastrophe if someone gets sick allows more people to be productive, happy citizens of your country. Canada's had this since at least 1968, it's not some dream.

It won't be cheap short term because of how you got to this point. But it has to happen. Some of you think debating health care is related to politics or finances or people's motivation or background. It's none of those things. It's about a nation's priorities and respect of it's citizen's well being. Every legal citizen or landed immigrant with proper status.

I'm sorry but the pursuit of happiness should be only for the healthy.

Wrong on every level.

Health is a series of degrees anyways, and lack of resources makes things worse for many people. I say this as one of healthiest people out there at my age, I support helping those less fortunate get the best care under reasonable cost constraints. And society as a whole pays a price when it doesn't provide at least minimal care for everyone anyways. One might note that Canadians have a 2 year longer life expectancy then Americans across the board.

Sorry, it is not a right. Canadian healthcare sucks. Putting someone with 3 months to live on a 6 month waiting list is idiotic. Forcing me to pay for something that only benefits you ain't a right pal.

It does benefit you whether you understand that it does or not. If any nation only follows entirely selfish motives, it will self destruct. Canadian healthcare doesn't suck, that's a myth that Americans push on this site. Poll my country and ask them how many would trade our health care system for yours. You'd be lucky to get 5% to say yes. And again, I'm an extremely healthy person. I've subsidized other people's care for sure for decades. And I have no problem with it.

Trump has no choice because the cuckservatives began splintering off and hedging on voting for a repeal, right from the word go. He has to have his party behind him or he can't get a repeal. And the cucks won't go along and it's obvious why. The big donors in the chamber of commerce don't want a repeal. They want a replace. And where they lead, cuckservatives always follow.

Here's what ought to happen. Republicans should repeal the law and all it's tentacles.
Then they should change other laws so insurance companies can actually compete on health care policies and do it at a reasonable price.
Then, Trump should call for a massive new tax on newsprint and broadcast media to fund 'health care for the poor'. See how that fixes their wagon. They run constant stories about how repeal is going to KILL people. So let them do the funding they desire with their own tax money.

Politics is rewarding friends and punishing enemies. Period. It's axiomatic. The power to tax is the power to destroy.
And if our resident cucksucker thinks raising taxes on our enemies isn't conservative, we can just chalk that up right alongside all the other insane stances he takes that he calls conservative. Like voting for candidates who'll let millions of illegal aliens stream into the country without consequence.

I love it. Post of the new year so far.

ps. Even that dolt Obama understood this principle and acted on it ruthlessly.
