They will never in a million years offer a retraction or a correction of their stories, this would be completely ignored. Cons are completely brainwashed at this point.

There is a clear inference that American lives are the important ones in the tone. Perhaps subconscious. The Brits to be fair (I can have that passport also) tend to say British citizens or other. It is a small thing but it is not such a subtle thing the rest of the English speaking people don't notice.
The French... well they are the French, sneaky.
Americans are the only people who call other countries terrorists but talk openly about who to bomb next of course.
