I can understand why Biden would want to stay out of the public eye as much as possible. Trump does a magnificent job of shooting himself in the foot every day. If Trump were smart, he'd shut his pie hole and just let Biden do the talking.
No such luck. Twitter is his nemesis. Jack Dorsey knows what he is doing by allowing it to continue. If your enemy is digging his own grave don't deprive him of a shovel.
And he has fired a prosecutor in the SDNY who was investigating him. Not a good look.

Joe just has to be prepared, and stay on the attack. It's much easier to attack the incumbent. And Trump's buttons are easy to push.
And when Trump goes low, go lower.
Just treat Trump like the clown/comedian he is, and heckle him until he losses it; then clown him for losing it. And after Trump is fully unhinged, finish up the rest of the debate with proper presidential decorum.
Now that I think about it, Joe should privately consult with Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock. Traditional tactics won't work with Trump, ask Hillary.

Nothing from the Trump campaign can hurt Joe imo,getting embarrassed on stage in a debate can imo.If this was the same Joe who debated Palin and Ryan Id have no problem with him debating Trump 10 times,but Joe is clearly not the same as he was 10 years ago imo while Trump is still an effective aggressive bully.Biden was confused and lost many times in the democrat debates and Trump will be much more brutal.Debates are for the candidate who is behind(Thats why Trump wants so many of them).Huge mistake for Biden imo.I cant believe they would agree to this while Biden has a 10 point aggregate lead and how he looked in the primary debates.
Biden should have skipped the debates. With his lead it is an unnecessary risk. Trump is going to get Biden to fumble and screw up in explaining his position on Abolishing the Police. Biden will respond with "no, not abolish, defund". Then Trump will make it look like Biden is going to support abolishing the police by the end of the debate.

Admittedly, Trump is a more skilled and experienced bullshitter--to the untrained eye; to his base. He has the advantage in that regard.
His weakness is his inability to stay cool when the attack hit close to home. Putting him on tilt should nullify his advantage.
I'm thinking Joe's people have given him mock debates, training, and have assessed his capabilities. That's probably where he's been "hiding" lately.

I think both sides will have, and are expected to have, unforced errors. It'd be different if these errors were to come as a surprise.
Joe, and his campaign are well aware of Joe's 'issues,' Trump's propensities, and the stakes; yet, they green-lit the debate.
I want to believe that there must be some yet to be revealed reasoning behind that decision.
No,but its not going to hurt him much he does imo.Not many people who have made their mind up to vote against Trump are going to change it because a debate doesn't take place.Everybody knows both their positions.
