Trump to get Nobel for Iran Deal

AGAIN, many agree Obama did not deserve the award, myself included. That however has nothing to do with the otherwise stringent requirements to be considered accomplished enough to deserve the award. Or do you stop believing in capitalism just because there is an economic crisis occurring every now and then?

Obama himself didn't agree.... Didn't he reluctantly accept it and gave the credit to the administration? Good luck with Trump being that humble....

If only the Constitution had a mechanism for formalizing such "great" diplomatic achievements...

Russia! Russia! Russia!

There is a disappointing amount of truth in what you posted. Russia has been working on trying to foment discord among the Western alliance of nations since at least 2009. Long before Trump decided to run. But as it turned out, their efforts were brilliant in design and realization. Kudos to Putin and his operatives. They have been magnificent in their achievements. Sadly, from my personal point of view, the results haven't been in democracy's favor.

That's besides the point at least for me. Perhaps Obama's attitude was as you described. I am not for nor against Obama. I try to judge a person's decision on issues. Good on him if he did what you described. It totally goes against the idea of the Nobel Price to be awarded for it before a award worthy achievement.

It seems to me most of those in the middle east are happy the US is not going to honor this one sided, unsigned deal which Obama made and Iran never ratified or signed.

While those countries who previously made a lot of money selling goods and tech and war materiel to Iran are the ones who desire to avoid avoid an return of sanctions and economic pressure. Follow the money it leads to the crooks and ht mal actors. just ask the clintons. mcconell and reid and pelosi (and maybe cohen and trump)
Jem, you at at heart a good man. I am pleased to see that you are recognizing that Trump is not what he pretends to be -- that he is not going to do for our country what we would hope he would do.

Well, to be fair, the United States has been interfering in foreign elections since 1947. In fact, the Obama Administration actively interfered in foreign elections - including funding opposition to Netanyahu's campaign in Israel.

That may be true given that you consider Canada to be your country.

You can’t seriously rank the Iran Deal up there with the post-war Marshall Plan or the Reagan/Gorbachev INF Treaty.... :banghead:
Yes I do. The Marshal plan was only somewhat difficult to sell to the U.S. and it's allies. Nothing comparable to the diplomatic achievement of the Iran deal, and what is at stake -- Nuclear war. Diplomatically the Iran Deal was an Amazing achievement. Reagan Gorbachev INF, no comparison. I am speaking to the difficulty of getting an agreement. Tremendously difficult in the case of the Iran deal, and yet it was achieved.

This is absolutely true. Not only is the U.S. the most hypocritical nation, it is also by far the worst terrorist nation. The first step in regaining respect from other nations is to recognize its faults. The second step is to stop commiting the same crimes over and over..

When did Obama sell the deal to the United States since you are touting his selling it to other countries?

It is just something that he did and specifically refused to call it a treaty because he knew that he could not get Senate approval for it. Yeh, nice sales job there President Dufus - what an achievement.
