Trump to get Nobel for Iran Deal

Yes, you are indeed correct that the UK, Germany, and France wanted the U.S. to stay in deal - but this move is not a surprise for them.

No, the Gulf States don't want more U.S. troops in the region. That's nice tribal political pablum but it's not on point and the reality is much different. On May 8, 2018 President Trump essentially chose to stand aside and let this be a regional matter because it already is and has been for over three years.

The fact of the matter is that Iran's neighbors were ignored, insulted and dismissed outright by Obama and Kerry during the process and so they decided to take matters into their own hands.

All of Iran's immediate neighbors were dead set against the deal. They despised the fact that the U.S. and the Europeans were enabling Iran to step up it's hostilities with it's immediate geographical neighbors. In other words, they brokered a deal without any skin in the game. That would be like the state of Washington deciding a dispute over private property rights and public access to Lake Michigan beaches on the Indiana shoreline.

On April 2, 2015 the Gulf States and Israel were essentially forced to become allies and wage what has become a unified regional war against Iran. It's an open secret that the Mossad and the Saudi GID are working very closely together. Those very recent Israeli air strikes against Iranian targets in Syria only happened because the Gulf States not only allowed Israeli aircraft to overfly their territory - there was a leak in the Israeli press that they provided air-to-air refueling! That is correct - Arab tanker jets refueled Israeli F-16's. Iran's leadership and nuclear scientists are reportedly terrified of the Mossad - and rightfully so. The Mossad apparently moves into and out of Iran with ease and has a great deal of high level espionage intelligence access within the bowels of the Iranian government - enough to locate and then export a stunning cache of nuclear program physical documents and digital files.

There is a tremendous amount of crude oil supply on the market today. North America has become the largest producer in the world. If Iran wants to play games in the Strait of Hormuz I would expect expect some temporary volatility but in terms of world oil supply any dislocation would IMO be rather short-lived.

My point being, that President Trump has not declared warfare on Iran. Israel, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) banded together 37 months ago and did that.

In your opinion what happens if/when Iran starts building nuclear weapons?

In your opinion what happens if/when Iran starts building nuclear weapons?

Just my own opinion, FWIW.

Based on what I've seen the past 37 months - Israel and Saudi Arabia take care of it directly and jointly. They will not wait on Washington, London, Paris, Berlin, and Moscow.

Saudi Arabia has been taking delivery of F-15SA's, and Israel has been taking delivery of F-35I's. Israel has also proven that it can deal with the S-300 system.

Israel has taken out nuclear facilities unilaterally in Iraq and Syria already, so I have no doubt they would do the same to Iran.

Well, we are already expecting another book by Obama, aren't we? Seems like he and Mooch got some dough towards the end for their books. Looks like someone has given Obama an appropriate title for it, and isn't the title the hardest part of writing one?

Iran did not sign the Nuclear deal.
It was not legally binding.

President Obama didn’t require Iranian leaders to sign the nuclear deal that his team negotiated with the regime, and the deal is not “legally binding,” his administration acknowledged in a letter to Representative Mike Pompeo (R., Kan.) obtained by National Review.

“The Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) is not a treaty or an executive agreement, and is not a signed document,” wrote Julia Frifield, the State Department assistant secretary for legislative affairs, in the November 19 letter.

Rouhani said in August. “Why should we place an unnecessary legal restriction on the Iranian people?”
