It does, indeed, make me suspect something. The possible conclusions I've arrived at are either there is something they want to hide, or that they either don't care or don't realize how bad it looks. I am going with "don't care" at this point, based on what I've seen thus far in the Trump Presidency.

Additionally, if there is something they want to hide, I don't see how firing Comey prevents this information coming to light.

If evidence is ever presented, I will certainly change my thought process.

I just said I suspect something. I understand that this isn't enough for you, but yes it raised a red flag, otherwise I'd not suspect anything at all.

But I don't see this slowing down the process at all. I see it drawing further attention to it. If I were Trump were guilty, then that would be one of the worst things he could possibly do.
