Trump to Boycott Fox Debate

The other aspect of this that is just brilliant is that by setting up a feud with Fox News, Trump gives himself a ton of credibility with independents and some democrats. There are far more people who don't watch Fox than who do, and many of them regard it suspiciously. A republican candidate who attacks Fox gets their attention. Trump has already demonstrated far more cross-over appeal than any of the other candidates.

Trump is not risking much to get this advantage. He has Palin and now Jerry Falwell Jr supporting him, and their endorsement means something to the Fox viewer. His supporters have already confounded consultants by shrugging off any and all attacks on him.

They are not likely to be impressed by jibes that he is afraid of Megyn Kelly. They will see a guy standing up to unfair media.

That's an interesting perspective I hadn't considered. I guess we will see how it plays out.

The funny thing about the mob (which many a Roman senator learned) is that the same anger and support can be channeled back at you once the tide turns. The mob is fickle, or so said Caesar.

Over the past few weeks, there has been endless commentary in the media on Trump vs. FOX.

Certainly Trump has added to some of this (e.g. the Megyn Kelly bleeding comments) but FOX certainly is responsible for escalating the situation. A responsible media outlet would not be attacking a candidate appearing in debates hosted on their channel -- this clearly demonstrates their bias.
