Trump on border wall funding: ‘This would be a very good time to do a shutdown’

On Saturday President Trump kept the door open to a potential government shutdown if an upcoming deal to fund parts of the government does not include funding for a border wall.

“We’re talking about border wall, we’re talking about quite a big sum of money, about $5 billion,” the president told reporters Saturday before leaving the White House for a trip to California.

“This would be a very good time to do a shutdown. I don’t think it’s going to be necessary, because I think the Democrats will come to their senses, and if they don’t come to their senses, we will continue to win elections,” he added.

I am not paying a penny for the wall, he said Mexico would pay for it. I believe him and until he says "I was wrong" or "I lied" it should not even be an issue up for discussion in the government funding.

I think when he said Mexico will pay for the wall it was in terms of tariffs, taxes, etc., obviously not an outright check.

But I agree, if Mexico doesn’t somehow foot the bill for a large portion of the wall it will be a failed promise.

I guess Mexicans are now being racist against other brown people. Or, message to the idiot left, it's not about race.

Tijuana Mayor Juan Manuel Gastelum said Thursday that caravan migrants arriving by the hundreds are no longer welcome, an increasingly common sentiment among residents of the Mexican border city.

Gastelum described the caravan of Central American migrants as a “horde” that has been infiltrated by criminals who now threaten the community, in an interview with Milenio Television.

“Tijuana is a city of immigrants, but we don’t want them in this way,” the mayor, a member of the conservative National Action Party, said. “It was different with the Haitians, they carried papers, they were in order. It wasn’t a horde, pardon the expression.”

Gastelum called on the Mexican government to deport the caravan migrants as soon as possible.

“You’re going to tell me we have to respect human rights,” he said. “But human rights are for law-abiding humans.”

The mayor’s comments reflected anger among many Tijuana residents at the increasing number of caravan migrants who have been streaming into the city since last weekend. About 3,000 were there as of Thursday night, and thousands more are expected to arrive over the coming weeks.

Lol. The border is the show card in a game of three card monte. It’s no longer in the shuffle.

"Who knew that all this time when we were looking at Mexico to build a wall, the wall was in our hearts all along." _DJT

Ungrateful, dangerous and going to cost you money. Yep, that about covers it.

They accused the migrants of being messy, ungrateful and a danger to Tijuana. They also complained about how the caravan forced its way into Mexico, calling it an "invasion." And they voiced worries that their taxes might be spent to care for the group.

"We don't want them in Tijuana," protesters shouted.

What a laugh riot. The Tijuanans don't want them there because they're messy. LOL

----And it's high time----

WTF! There are reports that the Mayor of Tijuana was spotted wearing a MAKE TIJUANA GREAT AGAIN hat.

Not shiiting you. You can't make this stuff up.

After those invaders leave, Trump should send the Tijuana folks some bucks for helping to toss the invaders out.........if it goes that way. As always, I am willing to pay for performance, and to withdraw funds for non-performance. Take a cut of the funding for Honduras and El Salvador and give it to the people in Tijuana directly. Not to the government/cartels.

I think this is real unless the fake news bastards are pulling my leg. Pretty hard to believe though.
