If Trump actually tries and cut costs so dramatically, then the Grassy Knoll is going to be a very crowded place.

While i hate to say it, i tend to agree, Trump has said he doesnt want to cut medicare or social security.....

beyond that unless he torches the entire government, and a large part of the military there isnt alot of room, so id be curious to see how they could come up with a trillion a year in cuts without touching handout programs.

I mean if anyone can look at the chart below and tell me where they are going to find a trillion dollars without cutting the miliatry in half and touching social security and medicare/caid, id be all ears.

Here is another chart with everything in it, clearly the only way to do it is to cut social programs while I would love to see it, im very doubtful it will happen.

Instead what we will most likely see is some kind of plan where

"future cuts are supposed to happen" and nothing gets done, cause republicans are just as big of cowards as democrats, and Trump doesnt want to touch the parts of the budget where it matters.

75% of the budget comes from sacred cows, (military and handouts) and no one on either side including Trump is willing to touch it.

Im not saying that there is no room to do it, Im sure a billionaire could trim all these budgets by a few billion, but obviously the big stuff where it counts would take a grand compromise that our leaders are wholly incapable of coming too, too many "sacred cows" on both sides.

SS will likely transition to means-tested. Along with all the other handout programs (section 8 housing, ebt, food stamps etc).

If it was easy it would have happened already. Saying "think expense reduction" is like saying Trump's Atlantic City casinos would still be in business if they simply cut costs.

Agree 100%. NATO members are supposed to allocate something like 2% of GDP towards military. Nobody does. America picks up the tab. Then the same wayward sluts blast America for spending "too much" on the military...

If he comes with in 50% of target that would be a win, but the dnc will spin it as failure and they could have done better. I'm sure the numbers have been investigated but with Trump he comes across shooting from the hip.
