I am not really sure what FTT has to do with anything...LOL! How do you call people who support tax increase & hate the tax cuts? And what about people who are all for the FTT?
Why can't I call a well known 'Chicago Soclialist' a 'socialist' exactly as you do?I am not really sure what FTT has to do with anything...
I would maybe suggest that you don't call people who dislike this particular tax cut anything, since many of them have different rather nuanced arguments. For instance, just to pull a random name out of a hat (since I just read a transcript of an interview with him), Ken Griffin, that well-known Chicago Socialist, appears to be one of those people.
I was actually being sarcastic, you know? Ken is no more a socialist than, I dunno, Ayn Rand or smth (and I know all that stuff about her)...Why can't I call a well known 'Chicago Soclialist' a 'socialist' exactly as you do?
Like I said, special kind of moron.....I was actually being sarcastic, you know? Ken is no more a socialist than, I dunno, Ayn Rand or smth (and I know all that stuff about her)...
It may be more fundamental than that, though I like your post. Perhaps the fundamental difference is that Republicans (conservatives) believe happiness comes from money. Whereas Progressives believe that happiness comes from collective action. The thing that everyone wants is to be happy. What in history has ever led you to believe that the Republicans are interested in helping the middle class? The Republican strategy has always been to help businesses and rich donors, and then since they need voters, try to convince the middle class that they will be better off because the businesses will hire more workers and pay higher wages, and the rich will spend more to boost the economy.
The Democratic strategy is to tell people of all the new/expanded social programs that will benefit the middle class, that will only cost a "small" tax increase on the upper class.
