that says tax revenue as a percentage of GDP. Big govt types always try to hide the realty of taxing and spending by doing it as a percent of GDP.

I speak of taxes as a percent of a person's income.

When you add up Federal State Local sales property and 200 other taxes the tax bite is enormous and unfair.

It's not "hiding", it's putting it in context. If I tell you, "I owe a million dollars", how do you evaluate that debt, in terms of your own ability to pay it, or in terms of my ability to pay it? Without context the figure is meaningless.

People's incomes are part of the GDP calculation.
