Please get in the habit of reading my posts more carefully. I gave an scenario of what would happen if I did advertised I would not rent to a protected class. To be more precise, I’ve never violated or attempted to violate fair housing or anti discrimination laws.

By the way, a few states actually prohibit discrimination based on political beliefs. According to nolo.com:


A few states explicitly prohibit employers from making job decisions based on an employee's or applicant's politics. In California, for example, employees are protected from discrimination based on their political affiliations and activities. New York and the District of Columbia have similar laws.

My point is that people should not be fired for expressing their political opinions, especially when there is no obvious intent to cause tangible harm to another party, as in Gina’s situation, while the Left seems to act surprised anyone would object to her firing even though the Bluest states have laws to protect against “Political affiliation and political activities discrimination”. That is the hypocrisy.

Can you reason why those states deemed it necessary to put those anti-political discrimination laws on their books?

Because those states are nanny states who want to destroy all your freedoms - in this case preventing you from firing whoever you want.

kathy griffin was protected by the comedy exception. btw - while she is an actual comedian (though not a funny one), Tucker Carlson has used the same exemption to get out of his inflammatory antics.

Likely she was fired because it was a commercial decision. And we can all agree that capitalism is awesome.

Accusing black people of committing voter fraud in an attempt to disenfranchise them is not a political opinion. It’s racism.

Try putting yourself in the shoes of black voters in Detroit, Philadelphia, Milwaukee, and Atlanta. You have the president of the United States applying political pressure through every means he has to get your votes thrown out but none in predominantly white areas. He had no evidence, just baseless accusations. And now his followers are threatening violence and there’s constant accusations that you did something illegal that you didn’t do.

It’s obviously a racially based accusation. A lie is not political speech. Racism is not political speech. Falsely accusing black people of fraud is not political speech.
