If the states will not turn over their voting information then it makes sense to shut down the Commission. The next step obviously is for the Justice Department to sue each of the states so they hand over the information which they are required by law to provide (and yes, the DOJ lawsuits will provide clarity on the law in this matter).

The reality is that Trump and the Republicans have a win here even without the Commission doing much -- just the threat of having the Commission dig deeper into voting matters has forced states to review the voting rolls in recent months for current residency, felony convictions, and citizenship status -- and appropriately purge inadmissible voters from the rolls.

Bullshit, the commission was shutdown after a judge ordered them to share the information with Dems. If the commission itself won't share their own data with their own members, asking states to give away confidential information is shamelessly hypocritical. Even Mississippi's Republican AG refused to share data with these clowns.
