I hope that's not true because we all know law enforcement on duty at political rallies are supposed to be trained to deal with threats like a shooter on a rooftop with a weapon.

Also, local law enforcement officers are supposed to have direct communication with the commanding officer at the political rally who has direct communication with Secret Service.

More...

Actually one local officer lifted another officer up to get on the roof. At this point the shooter pointed the rifle at officer attempting to climb up and the officer dropped to the ground.

Still not the bravest moment, but at least slightly understandable being the officer did not have a weapon out and was grabbing the edge of the roof with both hands to climb up.

This was according to media coverage.

That then implies there was a lack of security around the AGR building or that the building was not "corner off" as indicated before the rally.

Regardless, it's a high point within 200 yards of the rally and a direct view of the stage.

There should have been at least 1 - 2 snipers on that rooftop too.

For example, pretend there are 5 nearby rooftops with a direct view of the stage where Trump or any politician will be standing to give a speech...Secret Service snipers or local law enforcement should be stationed on top of each of those 5 nearby rooftops...not just one rooftop with a view of the other 4 rooftops.

If the above happened in the security for Trump in Butler...someone should be fired.

Security experts are questioning why the building whose roof served as a shooter's perch for the assailant responsible for Saturday's assassination attempt on former President Trump appeared to not have been secured in advance by law enforcement officials.

"It’s a no-brainer," Kevin Maloy, a former retired special agent with the State Department, told Fox News Digital. "Anybody with a security mindset looked at this and goes, 'What were they thinking? Why was no one there?’"

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, fired his weapon at the 45th president from a rooftop about 150 yards away from where Trump was speaking. Crooks pierced the former president’s ear, killed one attendee and critically injured two others before a U.S. Secret Service sniper took him out. Security professionals were baffled why the building in Butler, Pennsylvania, which seemed to pose such an "obvious threat," hadn't been secured.
 
One has to wonder how this kid knew where to go in the first place. It's fair to question if he was given any security information. It's interesting how he somehow found the optimal spot with no security to climb up, setup shop, and get his shots off.

Don Jr. broadcast the location of the rally several days before...plenty of time for a lunatic to begin monitoring for an advantage to set up a nesting location for an assassination.

Trump respects that officer who did not become a "loser and sucker" with nothing "in it for him".
