That makes perfect sense really. They have a whole Presidential wing setup there for just this kind of thing. He can be Trump and not contaminate anyone.
Once again, Trumpy trumps in 3D chess. Its a brilliant move strategically.
There is no Presidential wing to work from, and contaminating others was hardly an issue for him before.
He went to the hospital because he is sick and scared shitless, don't even pretend its part of the plan when Covid is the last thing he wants people to talk about.

The guy is hopelessly lost, has no conviction about anything in life, and is now soul-searching. It is bigly-obvious. Especially since for the first time ever, he was not using any hand gestures. He was clenching his fingers together, because he is overwhelmed with his predicament. Quite a change!
