1. What is your basis to claim that Obama 'knew' this? US has a large base there and the Pentagon doesn't say that they are funding terrorism in anyway different than all ME countries (supporting anti-Israel groups)
2. This notion that Qatar somehow supports terrorism is being perpetrated by Saudis who themselves are the biggest funders of Wahabi jihadism, Trump is only repeating the Saudi talking point after his curstie tour.
There is no need to pick any as both of your points are wrong.
There are still other scenario's possible; one of them is: Qatari are no terrorists.
I suspect alot of Arab countries to support terrorist. The argument is used for political reasons.
I wouldn't trust Saoudi's too. But they are business partners from the US. And as we know: money rules the world.
Despite the fact that 15 of the 19 men involved in the 9/11 attacks were from Saudi Arabia, Trump not only declined to include the country in his so-called Muslim ban but seems to be actively courting their cooperation.
Probably for the war he must even now be planning.
