Softbank has 65,000 employees now. how are they going to double their company size? I think investing 50bn and creating jobs means : buy a company worth 50billion and not fire 50,000 people.
I think he means that this investment will create 50k new jobs.

It's a private equity fund run by SoftBank that will make an investment. Likely they will buy t-mobile which might have 50,000 jobs. Clearly it's crony capitalism. Trump claims a win, and SoftBank gets to merge t-mobile and sprint to continue the consolidation trend in wireless.
