Probably right. Find me a single neighborhood that's been enriched by bringing the projects into it. Bringing urban housing to the suburbs will absolutely sink property values. Of course, this is what people want because the idea of saving more than a week for something eludes your average American.

Find me a single place where bringing in urban development has created a culture that grows property values and safety. Please do.
 
I'll say this. I like some of the newer mixed-use developments.

The old Pasadena mall was torn down and a series of condo towers built with below ground parking and retail on the ground floor with walking parkways and cafes allowed to seat people outside like Europe. Its become an extension of Old Town and I can't help but like it.

Aren't you referring to the downtown? Old Town? If so, then that's not what this plan is about.
