Still, team right will argue that the cost of comprehensive and effective gun control is too high (it wouldn't prevent enough murders) to pay in terms of the risk (certainty?) of government tyranny, for one thing. This is mostly b.s. its almost impossible to calculate the r.o.i. on securing the border, how are they going to accurately predict what wages would be without illegal immigrants, and other things that they really cant get an entirely accurate number on, like how much does 1 extra criminal cost us when you account for the court costs and everything over a lifetime, on top of criminals who reproduce and pop out more criminals who also cost the system millions.

One shitty illegal immigrant who comes here and pops out five kids can easily end up costing the system millions of dollars, i doubt the economic activity from any illegal who doesnt pay taxes could even come close to recouperating that cost.

The only argument that the left has on this is that these illegals are generating economic activity, but given the fact that they arent paying any taxes on anything, and the fact that overall they end up being lower class people who need more from the system, i think it would be impossible to make the claim that their economic activity generates enough new business to gain enough new taxes to make up for what they are taking out of the system.

Surely you arent arguing that illegals are a net positive on the governments balance sheet. Thats pretty simple math, we get almost zero revenue from them, so anything they take out of the system is a net loss.

In all fairness, Max...there are a large number of illegals that ARE paying taxes and are a part of the system...IOW, they have contributed untold sums into the system that have helped SS and Medicare with funding...OTOH, there is the other side of the ledger and the costs associated with the criminal class.

Fox had a chart a couple of weeks ago... showed 59% of illegals receiving "welfare assistance". I'm surprised it's that low of a percentage.

The problem is he used too broad a brush with these statements and now the left is skewering him with their own broad brush. The Donald needs to learn a little nuance.

Change his statement to this. They're brining in drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists. Most illegals don't fall into these categories, but far too many violent criminals are crossing the border and they're staying here.
Does the left still go haywire? Of course they do, but he only would have given them a single shot pistol instead of a machine gun.
