Trump: Pope's comment disgraceful

but.... let me say... I am also pretty confident Jesus would not want the Pope telling Americans they are not Christian because they want secure borders.

So while in no way am I saying I speak for Jesus on this one... I am confident the Pope was wrong on that one.

56% of voters in a recent survey support building a wall on the border. Most of these voters are Christians and the Pope just insulted all of them.

The Pope is walking it back. Thank God.

by the way I have gained some respect for this Pope... I do wish I had his humility and his grace.

The Vatican spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi, has issued aclarification regarding the Pope’s remarks to journalists Thursday, when he said, in answer to a question about Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, that a person who only thinks of building walls and not about building bridges is no Christian.
...

The spokesman also insisted that the Pope was not intending a personal judgment on Trump, or trying to tell Catholics how to vote at the upcoming election.

by the way you may wish to read the whole article... the pope was probably misinformed by the press about Trump's positions. they leftist press played upon the leftist pope to get a quote against Trump and the Vatican had to walked back the shallow leftist comment.

I will say the pope probably just learned you can't trust our media. Now maybe he gets why we are anti establishment.

Question whether Obama is a Christian in a media interview and it's met with vicious condemnation. Beatdown of Scott Walker for not proclaiming Barry is a Christian. I wonder why Scott wouldn't do it.

But fine to question whether Trump is?

Just go on the attack and ignore what the hypocritical media says:

I think Jesus would tell us to pray and then act in a just and manner...
I agree. I think he would help the refugees right in front of him. I don't think he would delay or refuse to aid them because of larger, political issues, or because he recognized them as enemies, or because of fear.

I agree with you on an individual basis.
But would he have told the Jews to surrender their nation to the Romans?
I do not remember reading that in the bible?

so as I said the issue is more complicated when it involves nation states.

I think Jesus's compassion would be fully present even when considering problems at the national level. I don't think Jesus would build a wall.

I don't think Jesus would want to leave a people open to terrorists and their attacks if they could prevent it either.

So when you have conflicting principles... sometimes you pick one or the other and sometimes you have to come up with a reasonable solution, compromise or new thinking.

but now lets get back to the point.. Trump was right, and we were right. The Pope or the Vatican walked it back.

Which is becoming a pattern with the Vatican and this Pope.

Nehemiah built the wall around Jerusalem.
Is there any indication that this was contrary to God's will?
Then shut up.
