The Problem with Trump is that he'll say almost anything, right up to bragging about grabbing women by their pussies. So his word on anything means absolutely nothing. So we are constantly forced to look elsewhere to try and figure out what the hell is going on. Where does the truth lie? Are there going to be tariffs? If so, how much and on what products. Does anyone know ? When will they actually go into effect? Does anyone know? What are the conditions for lifting them? What in hell is going on. How soon can we get rid of him?
When I hear his supporters say that creating chaos, and being totally unreliable, is part of his "wonderful" negotiating "technique" it sends me straight to the aspirin bottle.

Living isolated on the American continent you are probably not aware at the consternation elsewhere. Trump looks like he is set to cause a huge amount of damage around the world with his mean attitude. Why should one lunatic be allowed to cause so much suffering on innocent people ?

A similar situation of people being corrupted by power has already happened in history. Only the technology has changed, not people. Know the past to forecast the future. The previous lot declared themselves to be Emperors and later Gods.

he's doing exactly what he campaigned on... and his constituents love him... highest support from republicans.... he is working for the American people... my portfolio is up 50% since election... of course you will feel different... your cheese has been moved.

I really don't see the trade negotiations as a we win you lose situation. Rather I see it as let's make our trade agreements fair and enforceable. Continued access to high spending US consumers makes it worth it for our trade partners to balance the trade agreements.
The contentiousness atmosphere seems to be related to our trade partners not being used to dealing with a strong US President. They were used to whining a bit and sending a "little help" to key US Politicians, I presume.
