Sooooooo, we find ourselves in a crisis -- pushed against the proverbial wall -- where 'true colors' tend to come out, right? Now, in this crisis, "many" have opined as to how social harm -- upset, turmoil, roiling of the greater social order -- can all be avoided if, as a group, society were to step in and actively, financially, support some institutions and individuals, such that the impact of this crisis is blunted, and the net impact post hoc will be minimized.
E.G.: Government will buy up debt paper and equity(ies), and hold them with a specific eye towards profitable ownership on behalf of the government. (Oh, and taxpayer.
