During his speech at the Values Voter Summit today, President Donald Trump wanted to let the audience know how he was helping all the areas recently hit by hurricanes and storms. In doing so, it seemed like he forgot that one of the people he met with was from the United States.
“And I left Texas, and I left Florida, and I left Louisiana, and I went to Puerto Rico,” Trump stated. “And I met with the president of the Virgin Islands. These are people that are incredible people, they’ve suffered greatly. And we’ll be there.”
Yeah, the Virgin Islands is a part of the United States. And there is no president of that territory. There is a governor — Kenneth Mapp —who met with Trump and the First Lady earlier this month.
