Trump meets Kim at the DMZ, first ever to step into DPRK

I guess I'm not sure how detente leads to nuclear war, but then I'm not a diplomat.

Trump is no diplomat, far from it. He's an arrogant, impulsive, solipsistic ego freak. His current cabinet is filled with reckless neocon loonies, warmongers and war criminals. (I'd reserve my rant against the democrats in some relevant future threads.)

The phony "diplomacy" is probably not Trump's idea in the first place, but scripted by pro-Israel strategists trying to play "divide & rule" when the current target is Iran. Angering North Korea might result in Kim Jong-un ordering nuclear missile technology transfer to Iran.

You may not like or respect our President, but I doubt that anyone else could have pulled this off.
A truly historic moment. Frankly, I'm amazed and really hopeful.

I guess you missed some major news headlines on screwed-up relationships between Russia, China and the U.S. under Trump. As far as I can tell, no country of significance in Asia besides occupied Japan and South Korea sees the US government in a positive light. Decades of lies, manipulation, mafia tactics and war crimes can be covered up at home since the Establishment controls the mainstream media. Not in Asia, not even Africa.
