There were anti slavery /pro civil rights Presidents prior to the 60's.There were anti slavery presidents like Adams and of course Lincoln.Some have mixed records.Grant got slaves as a gift but set them free,but not immediately.He also crushed the KKK who were terrorizing blacks.Buchanan bought slaves just to set them free but he didn't have the courage to stand up to the south.Truman threw around the N word but integrated the military.I don't think JFK was racist but he wasn't willing to risk a lot for civil rights legislation same with Teddy Roosevelt.I understand a lot of Presidents were a product of their time and don't list them among the most racist.

Off the top of my head some of the most racist Presidents imo were/are Trump,Wilson,Reagan,Jackson,Coolidge,Polk,Jefferson and Johnson .
