Trump joins ANTIFA movement

This is a tough issue.
I am not sure the press is worthy of the current actual malice against a public figure standard.

Why should they be allowed to print lies and then later say... well we didn't publish it maliciously. It makes it almost impossible for a public figure to win.

The current actual malice standard was the correct standard when the press acted as the 4th estate and seemed to present the issues in a far more balanced manner.

Now it seems they spin or worse... they seem like Pravda was at times.
This press is run as a business we should no longer give it such free license to print lies about public figures.

Freedom of speech means you are free to vocalize your thoughts and feelings. It does not mean you are free to lie in an attempt to harm others.
 
that is the principle.

how you craft laws to protect that principle is the the key.
How big a shield does the press deserve?

Keep in mind, any modification to the law will be largely enforced by democrat hacks who have infiltrated government agencies and bureaus.
