That's exactly what I'm saying.
We've known about the outbreak since December, so the flight ban from the Chinese region should've happened then, not a 2 months after the fact in Feb 4 after we already had cases. Since we failed at that, several blocks where the 1st cases occurred in Wash. State & Cali should've gone on immediate lock down, with more neighborhoods added to the list as cases mounted. If all of that failed, then the West Coast should've gone on lock down. I mean, we have the Chinese & HK model, so it's not like we didn't have somewhere to learn from.
We still don't know the extent of the damage from the flights of patients coming from Asia (Hubei & Princess cruise ship) where no precaution was taken.
Now, if Trump hadn't scrapped the international budge for disease control, who knows, maybe we'd have had more intel from ground zero & be aware of the precautions & extent there, giving us even more data to have prepared from.
Or the guy could've just listened to the intel briefings, and not dismiss dissenting voices as he did w/that female doctor ringing the alarm.
