Thought-provoking stuff to be sure, but I don’t see how it changes the way we interact with the world day to day.You would possibly enjoy the new series "Devs" which has a theme that the universe of fundamentally deterministic. Well scripted and nice soundtrack.
This caught my attention six years back when I started trading, that a decision can be measures six seconds before the conscious mind is aware of it.
It is relevant to me of course in the fast trading I do, as with my old job shooting things (poacher vehicles, boats, aircraft etc. not people so much) the more you can operate on a "sub" conscious level, the better the anticipation.

I'd convert to either Catholicism or Satanism... whichever guarantees the result.
I suspect you’re right, but surrendering yourself in the manner you describe requires a considerable amount of expertise upfront. I get completely what you’re saying as it relates to driving, as I’m sure most of us do. As for trading, I can only hope to achieve that kind of “unconscious” competence. With any luck, in this lifetime. For me it was to let go of much more of my conscious effort to know what it was I was doing and why when doing specific fairly complex tasks.
This can be anything of course, many would know it as "surrendering yourself" as a lover or just plain old driving to work sometimes. I can only say that when I started perfecting this I was able to do things like shoot five outboard engines of boats moving in the river at improbably far distance in near as fast as I could squeeze the trigger.
Rally driving is another place where you can't let your conscious mind slow you down. It has applications. There are a lot of quantum woooo notions about but we can use our minds better.
