Indeed! Very well put. Whatever his faults, Trump projects them onto his opposition. So when he tried to steal the 2020 election, the chant from Trump and his fellow would-be thieves became "stop the steal" -- people died and many went to prison. The ring leader remains at large, but it seems it's only a matter of time before "the [long] arch of the moral universe... bends towards justice", unless, of course, corrupt justices on our Court prevent it. This election coming up is , as Harris said, not just the most important of our lifetimes, but one of the most important in our nations history.

I am old enough to remember the Watergate Scandal and Nixon's resignation. That July Fourth there was not a dry eye as choirs sang the "Battle Hymn of the Republic". When Gerald Ford subsequently ran on his own for President, he might have won but for his pardon of Nixon. Ford saw the pardon as a step toward healing the nation; the nation saw it as a rebuke of our sacred belief that the law should apply equally to everyone; especially to Presidents!
