Trump faces a much tougher road to reelection than most seem to think.

Might be a good time for a history lesson. Richard Nixon was elected in 1968. From 1968 until 1972 the nation experienced many riots, assassinations, NG troops firing on and killing student protestors, intense racial discrimination far worse than today, far more police brutality than we see today, segregation, inequality in the workplace far greater than today, a very unpopular draft, an extremely unpopular war which was killing tens of thousand annually, just to highlight the larger issues. Nixon was very unpopular, hated by the left, distrusted by many on the right, and had little media support. He was also horrible on camera. In 1972 he was re-elected in a 2 to 1 landslide victory. Why?

1. The protestors had went a bridge too far and were seen as more of a threat than he was.
2. The democrats put up a terrible candidate in McGovern.
3. The democratic message was Nixon bad, anyone is better.

Now before you completely miss the point by saying Nixon resigned in disgrace two years later, you might want to consider the actual point that he was re-elected in the midst of a shitstorm which had many more tentacles than this one. End of history lesson.

And you entirely missed the demographic shift.

What I see are left leaning people whistling past the graveyard. You cannot win with a scorched earth protest strategy AND a weak candidate. In fact, you don't want to win with a scorched earth AND a weak candidate. By doing so you inherit, much of it your own doing , a completely wrecked economy, racial tension which isn't going to just magically disappear, a growing in strength in numbers domestic terror organization, Antifa, which had it's rebirth during the Obama administration and that should tell you they don't give a shit about race relations other than to use it as a tool working towards their objective. In truth, if the left had any brains at all they would lay this off on Trump for another term and walk into 2024 in a cake walk election. Of course, you've blown those too, so what do do? You guys are great at tearing shit down and demolition is always the easy and fun part of any job. The rebuild, especially under less than ideal conditions and a deadline to meet, that can be a bitch. Yes, you will have a deadline as the blame Trump for it all won't appease the mob for long. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

You guys and your useless polls. Approval ratings mean nothing. The country by in large did not like Nixon. I know, I was actually there. No, the level of actual hate for him was not the same as it is for Trump, but none the less most people did not like him. They held their noses and voted. They did so because they saw him as the lesser of two evils. That same scenario is playing out today and while both sides have the same argument, our guy is the lesser of these evils, the one side, democrats, are now telling us that we must not only accept the violence and destruction, we deserve it. That and that alone makes this a single issue election, nothing else matters. If you, as the representative of the government are refusing to do the number one job which is to protect the lives and livelihoods of the citizens you represent, then everything else is irrelevant. Everything.
